Agape Christian School (ACS) was founded in response to a divine calling on Christmas Eve, 2006, when Pastor Lyte Chapap shared a vision with Pastor and Mrs. Pang about the need to strengthen the spiritual foundation of future generations through Christian education. At the time, Saipan was experiencing economic changes following the closure of its garment factories. Seeing an opportunity to repurpose existing facilities for a higher purpose, the Chinese Christian Church of Saipan converted half of its 600-seat sanctuary into classrooms.

With the guidance of Mrs. Joy Chapap, an experienced homeschool educator using the A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) curriculum, and the support of Mrs. Mary Puno, the school was established in August 2007. Pastor Pang chose the name “Agape”, representing God’s unconditional love for all. The school began with two teachers and seven students, growing to twenty-one by the end of its first year, and has since continued to expand steadily, reaching 140 students by 2020.

In 2011, Pastor and Mrs. Pang led ACS in adopting the Switched-On Schoolhouse (SOS) and Abekas curricula to strengthen its academic foundation. Over the years, ACS has welcomed both local and international students, particularly from China, many of whom have come to faith during their time at the school.

Today, Agape Christian School stands as a vibrant community dedicated to academic excellence, biblical truth, and character development. Rooted in God’s love, ACS continues to nurture students to grow spiritually, intellectually, and personally, preparing them to serve others and make a meaningful impact on the world for God’s glory.
